It\u2019s something that I struggled with big time and continue to struggle with occasionally from time to time.<br \/>\n\u2014\u2014\u2014\u2014\u2014<br \/>\nFlashback to me when I weighed 8 and a half stone. I was eating whatever I wanted without paying attention to amounts\/portions, working out 4-5 days a week, drinking multiple glasses of wine every night (sometimes 2 bottles ? at a weekend) and eating waaaaaaay too much chocolate ?<br \/>\n\u201cI\u2019m healthy. I train often and have a lot of muscle. I can eat whatever I want. I earned this food.\u201d<br \/>\nTruth is I was lying to myself everyday (and I had not earned anything). I wasn\u2019t healthy and it wasn\u2019t inline with my goals.<br \/>\nSeriously.?<br \/>\nI think back to the people I coached while being an unhealthy trainer\u2026 not exactly a good example for my clients, eh?<br \/>\nSure, I carried the weight ok, but that didn\u2019t mean I was healthy. I was actually pretty miserable. I didn\u2019t sleep well. I couldn\u2019t push hard in workouts. I wasn\u2019t productive at work.<br \/>\nIt wasn\u2019t until I started being honest with myself that real changes started to happen. I had to stop justifying my poor relationship with food and alcohol if I wanted to get healthier.<br \/>\nI started tracking my food intake that would yield fat loss.<br \/>\nI disciplined myself to train a minimum 4x a week.<br \/>\nI stopped having wine and chocolate in the house (because if it\u2019s there, I\u2019m going to drink\/eat it).<br \/>\nI had to stop \u2018popping to the shops\u2019 (no joke, willpower is tough).<br \/>\nI had to make some serious changes.<br \/>\nPresent day: body weight is around 10st. I sleep so much better. Train smart and  hard. Feel awesome in my own skin. Proud of myself.??<br \/>\n\u2014\u2014\u2014\u2014\u2014<br \/>\nSo my challenge to you for the remainder of this week and weekend: be honest with yourself. If you have goals you\u2019re working towards\u2026 are you really doing what you need to do to get there? Are you making it to the gym? Are you tracking your food intake? Are you staying hydrated?
